On 9 March 2017, the UK’s Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) announced it would issue one of its highest fines to Media Tactics, a UK-based provider of marketing data, for violating terms of using citizen’s personal information. On 28 February, a data leak was announced at the Academic Medical Center (AMC), one of the Netherlands largest hospitals and foremost research institutions.
